PROGRAM INFORMATION

Practical Nursing Education Programs are available on the Muskogee, Sallisaw, Stilwell, and "Bill Willis" Tahlequah Campuses of Indian Capital Technology Center. Successful completion of the Practical Nursing Program will qualify graduates to take the National Council Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Upon successful completion of NCLEX-PN he graduate will be licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This program is designed to teach entry-level skills required for practical nursing.  The Practical Nursing Program is divided into four (4) quarters of study during which students receiving training in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.  Courses are designed in order for the student to progress from simple to more complex areas of study.  Within its curriculum, entry-level skills required for employment in certain other health care occupations may be obtained (i.e. nurse assisting).  The graduate should be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).

In order to more readily meet student needs, Indian Capital Technology Center offers a variety of classroom hours and instructional formats for the Practical Nursing Program.

Definition of Program Format

 

TUITION/FEES

 

Plus the cost of books, equipment, uniforms, and fees. A detailed listing of these items as well as an estimated expense list is available prior to class selection.

A payment schedule may be established for students who qualify.  This payment may be divided into four unequal payments due at the beginning of each academic quarter.  Individuals may contact the District Practical Nursing Office for more information.

FINANCIAL AID

APPLICATIONS

Applications for the program may be requested from any of the Indian Capital Technology Center campuses.

ADMISSION REQUIRMENTS

This program is open to adults showing a sincere interest and aptitude for this field as a wage earner or for those wishing to learn a skill in preparation for advancement into fields offered in higher education.

                        Preparing for NET

Upon selection, admission will be contingent upon completion of a health history/physical performed by a licensed physician and an updated immunization record.

ADMISSION WITH ADVANCED STANDING

Admission with advanced standing may be granted to applicants who have successfully completed nursing credits from other institutions, have completed college level anatomy/physiology/microbiology, and meet requirements for admission with advanced standing.  For more information contact the Practical Nursing District Office.
